I impulse bought a damaged set of these from Amazon's own Warehouse Deals (check them out if you haven't already, I've had about 99% great experiences with getting low prices on things that generally have minor or no damage, or just damaged packaging). There is a small chip in one, looks like Le Creuset's defect versus actual damage--I have already dropped two of these with no damage, ha. These are LARGE ramekins, 7 ounces. They're still small, but I've noticed a few recipes that call for smaller 4-ounce ramekins. So be forewarned, check your recipe first! I'm sure you could still use these for those recipes, either making the serving bigger and upping the baking time or just filling them up partway. Also--these are $12 for one on Le Creuset's website, plus shipping fees. So $48 plus 9.99 shipping. I paid less than $30 via Warehouse Deals, free shipping. I win!So far, I have used these for pots de creme, and they make they presentation beautiful. Mostly I have used these for meal prep, such as getting different ingredients ready for cooking...i.e. eggs in one, brown sugar in another. They are the perfect size. We've also used them for mini serving dishes for nuts, things I don't want my teen son eating an entire jar of.I generally hand wash these as the finish is so smooth it makes everything come right off with no scrubbing, but have recently put two in the dishwasher due to the grossness of whatever ingredient I had put in them. Both came out of the dishwasher perfectly. I do use more gentle settings on my dishwasher, no "pot scrubber" or heated dry settings, so that may have made a difference.Anyway, I loved these so much I bought ANOTHER set of four from Warehouse Deals for a great price. This time, none of them were damaged, so I think they were just in Warehouse Deals due to a customer return (as in, I think the box had been opened, saving me $20+). I highly recommend these.
